“Los soles truncos,” René Marques
"Los soles truncos" is a play about three aging sisters, one of whom has just died, who are trying to save their house from being sold. The sister who is in charge has been slowly selling their most valuable belongings in order to pay their bills, and when they can no longer hold out the creditors, they decide to let the sun in and burn down the house–with them in it.
"Los soles truncos" es un teatro sobre tres hermanas avejentadas, una de quienes acaba de morirse, que están intentando a salvar su casa de ser vendida. La hermana quien es encargada de todo ha sido vendido, lentamente, sus pertenencias más valiosas para pagar sus facturas, y cuando ya no pueden mantener a rayo los acreedores, deciden a dejar entrar el sol y incendiar la casa–con ellas adentro de ella.

“Entre Villa y una mujer desnuda,” Sabina Berman
This play, by Mexican author Sabina Berman, deals with a couple set in the present time who are lovers and are working on a book about Pancho Villa and the Mexican Revolution together. With juxtaposed dialogue between Villa and a woman and the couple every other line, the woman in present day realizes she wants more than just a sexual relationship and asks for it. Her lover leaves her, and when he comes back three months later she has a new boyfriend. What’s interesting to see is the dialogue of Villa and the man, because while the man tries to commit suicide, Villa is encouraging him to kill her for her ‘betrayal’.
Esta obra, por la autora mexicana Sabina Berman, se trata de una pareja en la actualidad quienes son amantes y están trabajando en una novela sobre Pancho Villa y la Revolución mexicana juntos. Con diálogo yuxtapuesto entre Villa y una mujer y la pareja cada otro línea, la mujer en la actualidad se da cuenta que quiere más que una relación sexual y lo pide. Su amante la deja, y cuando retorna después de tres meses, ella tiene un novio nuevo. Lo que es interesante para ver es el diálogo de Villa y el hombre, porque mientras el hombre intenta suicidarse, Villa lo está animando a matarla para su ‘traición’.
