“La noche de los asesinos,” José Triana
"The Night of the Assassins" is a play dealing with disillusion: of children with their parents, and on a grander scale, of citizens with their government. Three siblings have their own mini-theater production and plot to kill their parents, who they are upset with for numerous reasons. A stunning example of metatheater, the play ends with the sibling who killed their parents on trial, another being the judge, and the last the jury.
"La noche de los asesinos" es un teatro que se trata de la disilusión: de niños con sus padres, y en escala más grande, de ciudadanos con su gobierno. Tres hermanos tienen su propia producción de mini-teatro y conspiran a matar sus padres, con quienes están enfadados para multiples razones. Un ejemplo impresionante del metateatro, el teatro termina con el hermano quien mató a sus padres llevó a juicio, otra la juez y la última el jurado.

“La virgen de los sicarios,” Fernando Vallejo
A semi-autobiographical account of the author’s experience with his native Colombia, “Our Lady of the Assassins” deals with the problem of child assassins in Medellín. The author describes them as children with no life and no future, born only to die killing, and in his return to Medellín he meets and falls in love with one, named Alexis. Alexis is eventually killed by the sicario the author unknowingly falls in love with next, although the text suggests that the second is simply a replacement for Alexis–the author confuses their names, and always thinks of and remembers Alexis.
Una cuenta autobiográfico de una parte, “La virgen de los sicarios” se trata de la experiencia del autor con su país nativo, Colombia, con los sicarios. El autor los describe como niños sin vida y sin futuro, nacidos sólo para morir matando, y en su retorno a Medellín conoce y se enamora de uno, llamado Alexis. Eventualmente Alexis se muere de las manos de otro sicario, quien inconscientemente el autor se enamora después de la muerte de Alexis, aunque el texto sugiere que el segundo sea simplemente un reemplazo para Alexis–el autor confunde sus nombres, y constantemente piensa en y recuerda Alexis.
