What I’ve Been reading Lately…/Lo Que He Leído Recientemente

“La Colmena,” Camilo José Cela

"La Colmena,“ or "The Hive” in English, is an interesting novel that has been considered the greatest Spanish novel since the Civil War. It has over 300 characters and is divided into 7 sections of page-long narratives about the different characters. At the end the reader realizes that in some way, although recounted through different modes, each of the characters is connected, mainly without them knowing, but they all contribute to the bigger picture that is Madrid in 1943.
