"El beso de la mujer araña,“ or "Kiss of the Spiderwoman” in English, tells the story of two cellmates in a jail in Argentina. One is accused of being homosexual and the other of being subversive–a revolutionary. Through sharing movie story lines with each other, they unexpectedly foster an intimate friendship, and when one of them is being freed, he agrees to do the other a favor, which has life-changing consequences.
"El beso de la mujer araña" se trata de la historia de dos compañeros de celda en una cárcel de Argentina. Uno está acusado de ser homosexual, y el otro de ser subversivo–un revolucionario. Por compartirse las tramas de películas entre ellos, inesperadamente se fomenta una amistad íntima, y cuando uno salió de la cárcel, él acepta hacer una favor para el otro, la cual tiene consecuencias que cambian la vida.

“Respiración Artificial,” Ricardo Piglia
Piglia’s novel follows Renzi, who has just published his first book, when his uncle contacts him with information regarding Osorio, who may or may not be a traitor. Piglia not only blurs the lines between reality and fiction and literature and history, but also uses all types of experimental narration, the most common being “he said that she said…” and so on. It takes place in Argentina during the time of the desapariciones.
La novela de Piglia sigue Renzi, quien ya ha publicado su primera novela, cuando su tío lo contacta con información sobre Osorio, quien puede ser o no un traidor. Piglia no sólo ofusca las líneas de realidad y ficción y literatura y historia, sino también usa todos tipos de narración experimental, lo más común siendo “él dijo que ella dijo…” y todo eso. Tiene lugar en Argentina durante el periodo de las desapariciones.
