Wednesday Wisdom

This piece of Wednesday Wisdom is from a fellow poster and traveler from Girls Love Travel, and it could not be truer. When people ask me, but how can you afford to travel? My only real response is, how can you not

Here is her response to this question:

“We always are seeing posts on here with people asking: “How do you afford traveling all the time?” There is no magic button to push. Most of us work like dogs to afford the trips we can take. For lack of a better word, being a traveler is an “alternative” lifestyle (I think a very healthy lifestyle). We give up manicures and pedicures. We don’t worry about having the newest fashion in clothes.  We don’t need to go out every weekend to party.  We are okay with coffee from 7-11 as opposed to Starbucks. Frankly, I’d rather give up a Starbucks here if it means I can have a great macchiato in Munich! Shoes are bought based on comfort, not heel height. Clothes are bought with the thought of how easy they are to pack.  Makeup is minimal because our beauty shines through based on our joy in life. We work second jobs to pay for plane tickets (this morning in six hours I made $140 driving for Lyft and Uber). We aren’t frivolous. We aren’t foolish. We are determined. Traveling is our priority. Yes, we are aware of the dangers (which aren’t near as fierce as you might think). We are brave and fierce!
