So I was thinking about what my next post would be about, and the idea of writing a review did not (and still does not yet) quite appeal to me. I intend for this blog to be a sounding board for anything that is of interest to me: books, music, movies, inspiration..etc.

It popped into my head that I should further explain my choice of the word passion, or rather passions, in my blog name. Have you ever had an intense desire for something in your life? A hobby, a goal, an activity? An intense desire is something I would describe as a feeling that can almost turn into anxiety (a good kind of anxiety) when it is not fulfilled, and you feel that you need to complete it or engage in it as soon as possible for your life to be fulfilled and happy.

I feel this way about numerous things in my life. The major one would be reading–as silly as it may sound, I have had an intense love for reading since I learned how. If I could sit all day and read, I would. At the same time, I also have that feeling for learning Spanish and where my language skills will take me. I have this emotion almost like anxiety (we’ll call it anticipation for a more positive light) that I should be devoting every spare minute to learning Spanish so that it can be as good as it can by the time I go abroad again.

I also love working out and trying new workouts, such as Pilates, rollerblading, kickboxing, lifting and simply jogging (which is, in fact, my favorite).

I have so much passion running through me that it can be difficult to deal with, and often I feel as though one (or more) of my passions is left by the wayside because I have other things to do, or because I can only focus on one at a time. In turn, this leads to anxiety! I would have to say that the word anxiety has such a negative connotation; maybe it is in itself a negative emotion for most people. But for me, anxiety just means I have yet to fulfill the many aspects of my life that I love, which motivates me to live to the fullest–in pursuit of this fulfillment–each and every day.

My top passions: Reading. Spanish. Loving. Exercising. Nutrition. Writing. Studying. And many more!
