Today marks the longest I’ve been away from home. Ever. And I’m really not that homesick about it, but I figured it’s kind of a milestone, so I’d write about it.
As most of you probably already know, I lived in Barcelona for a semester of university a couple of years ago, which amounted to roughly three and half months. I came to live in Palencia on September 6, and today marks one more day than my stay in Barcelona!
Honestly, I love living in Palencia, and would continue living here forever, but only two things are stopping me: my family, friends and boyfriend; and the unavailability of clothes dryers. I’m not kidding. You have no idea how much you will miss a clothes dryer until you don’t have one!
So here’s to three and a half months in, and six and a half more months to go. Here’s to continuing to improve my Spanish. Here’s to making good friends out of my roommates. Here’s to traveling, a lot. Here’s to getting into some grad schools that not only accept me, but also want to pay my way. And finally, here’s to having the time of my life, and living a life I’m proud of. Onward.
