I am so lucky as of late being able to travel so much, but this trip was especially great because I was going to visit my friend Maggie in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland.
Although it was rainy and foggy the whole time (I would have been kind of disappointed had it not lived up to its reputation), I had fun sightseeing during the day and hanging out with Maggie at night.
Most of you probably know that I am a huge British history fan, and you can’t have British history without Queen Mary of Scotland, quite possibly the most famous of Scotland’s rulers, and Scotland won’t let you forget it.
At the Edinburgh castle there was a section before seeing the Crown Jewels that gave you Queen Mary’s story, and at the Palace of Holyroodhouse you could see her royal rooms…aka I was in love!
And I also got to see special places pertaining to my other love, Harry Potter, namely the cafe where J.K. Rowling did a lot of her writing and the tombstone of Thomas Riddle, where Rowling took the name and also did a lot of writing. How cool, right?!
Each city I visit in the UK, I like more than the last: London, Dublin, and now Edinburgh, which I definitely liked the most. It was a combination of an easy-to-navigate city, cool sites, and the double feeling of a world capital with a small town charm.
Let’s just say if I ever get to live long term in Europe and Spain isn’t an option…hello, Edinburgh! 😉

Útimamente tengo mucha suerte porque he podido viajar mucho, pero este viaje especialmente era genial porque fui a visitar mi amiga Maggie en Edimburgo, la capital de Escocia.
Aunque estuvo lluvioso y nublado todo el tiempo (habría estado desilusionada si no hubiese colmado las expectativas de su reputacíon), me divertía hacer turismo durante el día y salir con Maggie por las noches.
Probablamente la mayoría de vosotros saben que soy un gran seguidora de la historia británica, y no se puede entender la historia británica sin la Reina María de Escocia, muy posiblemente la más famosa de los gobernantes de Escocia, y Escocia no se permite a olvidarlo.
En el castillo de Edimburgo había una sección antes de la de las Joyas de la Corona la que está dedicada a mostrar la historia de la Reina María, y en el Palacio de Holyroodhouse se pueden ver sus habitaciones reales…aquello enamoró!
También pude ver los lugares especiales perteneciente a mi otro amor, Harry Potter, específicamente el café donde J.K. Rowling escribía muchísimo, y la tumba de Thomas Riddle, de donde Rowling tomó el nombre y donde también escribía muchísimo. ¡¿Que guay, no?!
Cada ciudad que visito en Reino Unido, me gusta más que la última: Londres, Dublín, y ahora Edimburgo, la cual definitivamente es la que más me ha gustado. Es una combinación de una ciudad que se maneja fácilmente, con los sitios chulos, y el sentimiento doble de una capital mundial con el carisma de un pueblo.
Vamos a decir si algún día puedo vivir en Europa por in largo periodo de tiempo y España no es una opción…¡hola, Edimburgo!
