Day trip into the cold: How to travel in wintertime

This past weekend my boyfriend and I went up north to a town called Guardo, where winters are generally colder. (Winters in Palencia are mild, to say the least.) We spent a few hours exploring the town, then left and went to a different town. What I noticed, however, is that we fell into a couple of common wintertime traps. So here is my advice on how to avoid them.

Dress warm! Even though it’s cold, that shouldn’t be an excuse to not walk around the place you’re visiting at least for a brisk 10-15 minute walk. Which brings me to my next point, don’t do all your visiting from the car. Although my boyfriend and I did physically walk around, we did go quite a bit from the car, which I didn’t notice until I got home and realized I had only taken 7 pictures the entire day!

Wintertime travel has it’s benefits too; namely that there are hardly any people sight seeing and you have the places to yourselves. So make the most of it and enjoy! Below are my pictures from the village of Frómista, which we saw after Guardo.
