A weekend of ‘relax’

The truth is, I’ve been struggling real hard to motivate myself to write blog posts as of late.

There are quite a few things I have in my head that I want to write about, but when it comes to actually writing them, as you can see, they stay in my head.

This past weekend was a long one here in Spain, and I went to Palma de Mallorca, an island off the coast in the Mediterranean, with a few friends.

Traveling is always a refreshing thing for me, even when I would rather lay in bed and watch Netflix all weekend. But this weekend was especially refreshing because I realized a few things:

1. Never settle. On a boyfriend, on a friend, on no one. Even if this means being alone, doing things alone, or standing up for yourself. Don’t settle. Being alone is better and more fulfilling than being with people who made you wish you were alone.

2. Take time to relax. The Spanish have taken the word ‘relax’ and use it with abandon. Wandering around the city of Palma refreshed me. Having no agenda refreshed me. Without time to relax, I wouldn’t be able to give my heart to my students.

3. My heart overflows with joy when I travel, and I remind myself never to forget it. Never forget the things that make you cry tears of joy. And if you don’t have those things, go out and find them. It’s what makes working all the damn time so worth it.

Here are some pictures to make you jealous, and hopefully to make you start planning your next getaway 😉
